Kenya – Land Full of Safaris
Kenya is regarded as a miniature of Africa that offers a wide variety of attractions within her borders to its guests. These attractions include deserts, rainforest, mountains, many parks with great wildlife, exciting nightlife, beaches, marine parks, art and culture, and birdlife with an endless variety. Kenya is among the most popular tourist destinations in Africa. The National Reserve at Masai Mara was founded as a wildlife sanctuary in 1961. You can easily spot crocodiles, hippos, and zebras along with migrating wildebeests in the river banks of the Mara River flows through this reserve. July and October are the best periods to see migrating zebras and wildebeest through Masai Mara, and during this time leopards, cheetahs and lions are here for hunting. During this period, half to one million Wildebeest suddenly gather on the Serengeti plains in Tanzania, after which they migrate in a big circle through the south of Kenya and back again. It is the biggest wildebeest migration shows on earth.
Some relics founded at this place can be traced back to the earliest civilization that’s why this lake and its surrounding regions are known as the cradle of mankind. It is an arid desert area to the north of the capital city Nairobi, and the lake provides a fantastic view and a welcome relief to the heat. Another attraction near this lake is Mount Kulal that rises from the level of the lake and known as one of the three International Biosphere Reserves of Kenya.
The town of Lamu is one of the oldest towns of Kenya which is home to Muslim women dressed in black buibuis and Muslim men struggling in graceful clothes. Visiting this town feels like traveling through olden times past with its old buildings and narrow streets. The spoken languages in this town include Arabic and Swahili.
Sibiloi National Park
Situated at Alia Bay, this is one of the remotest National parks of Kenya. It is famous among visitors for its unique wildlife environment. This national park is home to a unique species of topi – tiang, oryx, gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, and ostrich. Koobi Fora, a sand spit, and a museum are among the other attractions in this park.
This historical town of Kenya includes a number of relics that belong to early visitors to this part of the world which include the Arab traders, the first European settlers, Chinese, and the Portuguese sailors. Besides all these ancient attractions Malindi is also famous for its beach resorts and its golden sands. They are also known for deep sea fishing activities due to its warm tropical waters.
